Welcome to the last post of this six part series! It will be the last wedding post for a few months because we took most of the summer off so that we can enjoy our own wedding and honeymoon. I know we’re going to miss it, though, and we can’t wait to get back to it in September! The next couple we’ll be photographing on their big day is one you’ve seen on the blog before, Toni and Joe. They’ll kick off our busy fall wedding season on September 8th so check back then for some more wedding photos! Until then, here are a few photos of my favorite moments during the two weddings we shot this spring. Enjoy!!
For Beatriz & Bill’s wedding, one of my favorite moments was figuring out where to photograph their wedding invitation. I got their early and had lots of time to play around in the bridal suite to try out different ideas. I loved this centerpiece and the modern couch and mirror in the background.
I don’t always get to capture moments like this one so I loved seeing Beatriz arrive at the venue with her dress!
I couldn’t decide where I liked Tammy’s dress better, in front of the French doors to the suite or in front of the window so here they are both, you decide!
The shoes… always so fun to discover!
Bouquets are always so different, I love seeing what the bride has chosen for herself. In this case, Tammy had adorned hers with photographs of her deceased mother and sister and I thought it was so sweet. It reminded me of my best friend Heather’s bouquet, which had the stems wrapped with one of her father’s ties. There are so many ways to include the people we have lost in some way on our wedding day but these are my favorites, because the bouquet always stays close to the bride.
Beatriz’ mother made her wedding bouquet. What a special touch!
The guys, hanging out before the ceremony.
This favorite moment actually happens *after* the wedding when Jay and I get home and he shows me the pictures he took of the groom getting ready while I was busy with the bride. It is a part of the day that the bride and I don’t get to see anywhere else but in pictures and I always love discovering it through Jay’s perspective.
I absolutely love this shot of Beatriz heading out to see her groom for the first time that day. There is just so much excitement in her face and energy in her stride. What a great moment that day!
Again, the bride going to meet her groom. I can only imagine how I’ll feel when I’m in Tammy’s spot in only 11 days!!
A tender moment between Tammy and Kevin after their “first look.”
This is another moment that I don’t get to see until Jay shows me his pictures… the moments before the bride walks down the aisle.
The moment everyone is waiting for on every wedding day!
The exchange of the vows…
And of course, the first kiss between husband and wife!
I loved how Tammy just couldn’t contain her excitement!
First dance between husband and wife.
I love how different cakes are at every wedding. They are so representative of the bride and groom’s taste, both inside and out :-)
I love the caketopper on Tammy and Kevin’s gorgeous wedding cake!
Another favorite moment of mine at every reception is when the bride lets loose on the dance floor. I love how her girlfriends are all surrounding her in this shot.
Another bride having some fun at her reception!
This moment is always fun. I loved this one in particular because the bride’s baby nephew is one of the single men hoping to catch the garter! Check him out on the left hand side!
The newlyweds, enjoying themselves on the dance floor.
And finally, the last song of the night is always so fun when the guests all get on the dance floor to end the celebration.
And with that, my last “catch-up” blog post is complete! I hope you enjoyed this six part series, thanks for reading!!
