The Couple
I’m always so happy to share a new wedding on the blog but today I’m especially excited!! I feel like I had been looking forward to Leigh Ann and Taylor’s wedding for such a long time. I met Leigh Ann thanks to her best friend Kim when Kim hired me to photograph her newborn son. Who would have thought that the birth of that adorable and future ring bearer (wait until you see him!!) would lead us to this wedding day. The world works in wonderful ways! And Leigh Ann and Taylor are proof of that! Taylor hails from Alabama but life led him to NYC where he met Leigh Ann on Tinder. They then met in person at a commuter bar in Penn Station just before Leigh Ann had to jump on a train to NJ. Taylor was running late that day due to work, but I think we can agree that the twenty minute delay was well worth the time Leigh Ann spent waiting for him!
Leigh Ann and Taylor share the kind of love that is inspiring in every way. The way they look at each other is just the sweetest, and the way they seem to be in a world of their own is so incredibly romantic. We witnessed this during their first look when all they wanted to do was make the moment last forever. They spent several minutes just showing each other all the details of their wedding attire and catching up on the morning. And then there was some twirling. Well, there was a lot of twirling. The best kind of twirling. Because Leigh Ann chose a dress that was perfect for it, and it was truly meant for her because it made her the happiest bride, and I could tell that Taylor just loved the joy on her face all day long.
The Wedding Day
Leigh Ann grew up in the Red Bank area and always thought of the Molly Pitcher as a beautiful, elegant place to celebrate a special occasion. Once Taylor and she toured it together and walked out on the gorgeous deck overlooking the Navesink River, they knew it was the perfect place for them to start their married life together. When their wedding day finally arrived last Friday, they started the day out right in the inn, both of them getting ready in different rooms with their respective wedding party members. I loved capturing all of Leigh Ann’s details – she picked the loveliest soft green and peach color scheme and paired it with gold details that were just stunning. But her dress truly stole the show! It was the prettiest ivory chiffon gown with an intricate bodice and T-strap back that stopped Taylor right in his tracks as soon as he saw her. He had the best reaction! The exact reaction that every bride wants from her groom! Taylor looked quite dapper himself in his custom suit. Gotta love a groom who gets a custom suit for his wedding day!
Leigh Ann and Taylor wanted their guests to come away from their wedding feeling like they knew more about them as a couple, so their main inspiration was sharing their love story. From fun fact napkins to friends announcing bridal party and special dances to locally produced wedding favors, these two thought of everything! Since they love sampling different types of food instead of being limited to one option, they even decided to feature food stations during their reception and their guests loved it (so did we!!). For dessert, there was wedding cake, a big groom’s cookie cake (apparently Taylor has a penchant for cookie cakes), and a Viennese table that was to die for. Their guests loved it! But my favorite part of the day was when Leigh Ann and Taylor exchanged vows. They were the absolute sweetest, genuine vows that reminded me why I love my job so much.
Leigh Ann and Taylor, thank you for allowing us to capture your love story. We were overjoyed to be a part of it and wish you all the best that marriage has to offer. Have a wonderful time at the Excellence Riviera Cancun and enjoy those piña coladas (Leigh Ann) and mudslides (Taylor)! So jealous of the outdoor hot tub and plunge pool you guys will be enjoying!!

Introducing Logan! I had to include two photos of him because he is just, well, too cute for words! Can’t believe I shot his newborn session less than 4 years ago! Also, side note, his seersucker suit was an homage to the groom’s Southern style roots Love it!
