The Couple

Kerry and Mike met while they were in college at the University of Maryland. Since they shared the same major, they were in a lot of classes together and by senior year, they had started dating. They continued to date after college and through PT school at Drexel and then moved cross country to Salt Lake City! What an amazing place to live and get access to some of the most beautiful places in the country! It was right before the big move that Mike proposed during a going-away party their family had organized for them and they spent the next couple of years enjoying their engagement and planning their big day.

We first met Kerry and Mike via Skype (although we would have looooved to go out to Utah to meet them in person – Jay and I just love going out west!) and we immediately noticed how relaxed they seemed to be about planning a wedding across the country. These two have such calming, insightful personalities and made it so easy for everyone to enjoy their wedding day. Even when there was a threat of rain and thunderstorms right during portrait time, Kerry and Mike stayed calm and enjoyed their wedding morning with their loved ones. They were excited to spend the day with all the friends and family they don’t get to see as often as they’d like and nothing could put a damper on that! Luckily, though, they had zero rain during portrait time and we were able to take advantage of the grounds that Kerry and Mike had fallen in love with right from their very first visit to Westmount Country Club.

The Wedding Day

Kerry and Mike discovered Westmount Country Club thanks to a friend who recommended it and they were immediately drawn to the elegant and modern grounds and architecture. It was a perfect fit for the classic wedding they planned and even served as inspiration for their big day. Other elements that inspired their wedding were skiing and the mountains, of course! They love playing in the mountains back home and found ways to incorporate that in their details – such as their adorable chair lift cake topper! Enjoy getting a peek into their day!
