With the holidays just behind us, it’s that time of the year when newly engaged couples are looking for the perfect wedding venue to tie the knot. If you’re searching for the perfect venue for your romantic NJ wedding, you’re going to love this post! I have a really popular board on Pinterest that is all about NJ wedding venues and I get lots of questions from brides wondering about the venues we’ve shot at so today I thought I’d share a few venues we love for the classic and timeless weddings we love to capture. This list is by no means comprehensive but it should give you a good starting point to start your search for that perfect venue. Whether it’s for their architecture, views, or unique characteristics, these venues have a way of making wedding days so romantic!
Romantic Wedding Venues NJ
These first few venues made the list because of their architectural interest:
Pleasantdale Chateau
This West Orange, NJ venue is actually a historic chateau! It sits on beautiful grounds that are full of romantic paths and covered bridges that are perfect for all the photo opportunities but the grounds are only one reason why this venue is one of our favorite NJ venues. Once you enter the chateau, you’ll see why. This venue has so much character and I just love discovering all the different nooks and crannies that are on site. Learn more about Pleasantdale Chateau weddings here.
Park Chateau Estate and Gardens
By now, you’ve likely heard of this beautiful NJ venue. It opened recently in 2017 but it has already become one of the most sought after venues in NJ. When you pull into the venue driveway, you’ll immediately notice the 17th century architecture and the vast grounds of the estate. It’s a photographer’s paradise! We’ve shot at this venue several times and we pinch ourselves every time we’re back there. It’s such a dream. Learn more about weddings at Park Chateau by clicking here.
Ashford Estate
This NJ wedding venue is one of the most elegant in NJ and caters to luxury clients. It is one of several Weddings of Distinction venues and, similar to its sister venues, provides numerous facilities to host your wedding guests. The estate is stunning and the grounds are jawdropping. Definitely click here to learn more about this venue!
Shadowbrook
The mansion at Shadowbrook dates from 1910 so if you love historic venues, you’ll fall in love with this one. We love this venue so much that we recommended it to Jay’s sister when she tied the knot a few years ago and it completely lived up to our expectations. The classic elegance of this venue is sure to please any bride planning a timeless wedding. Important to note is that this venue is currently under renovations. I can’t wait to see the expansion! The Manor
This West Orange venue has been around since 1956! Needless to say, it’s pretty well-known at this point. We love it for its extensive grounds and classic elegance. The 20 acres of beautiful grounds are a huge draw to this venue – the options for backdrops during photo sessions are endless.
Bay Head Yacht Club
If you love the water, you’ll love this Bay Head venue. You can have your ceremony on site and then rent a boat so that you can sail away with your groom after saying your I Do’s. Once you’re ready to celebrate with your friends and family, you’ll still have beautiful views to admire throughout the evening. Click here to learn more.
The Castle at Skylands Manor
Imagine getting married in a castle designed in the 1920’s! This Tudor Revival Mansion is certainly one of the most romantic venues in NJ. Not only is it a beautifully historic and elegant building, but it’s located at the NJ Botanical Gardens so the grounds surrounding it are exquisite and a true photographer’s dream. Ryland Inn Coach House
This 220 year old equestrian estate has been revived while preserving it’s old world charm and it’s wonderfully refined. I love how it combines the character of a historic estate with the modernities of the ever-changing times. Take a peek at a wedding shot at the Ryland Inn Coach House by clicking here.
Park Savoy Estate
This is one of our all-time favorite venues! We love it for its classic architecture, elegant ballroom, cozy fireplaces, and beautiful gardens. I also have to mention that the bridal suite at this venue is every bride’s dream for getting ready on her wedding morning with all her special ladies. Learn more about this venue here.
Romantic Waterfront Venues
If you love venues with views of the water but aren’t too crazy about sand in your toes (like me!), these next few venues are for you:
Windows on the Water at Frogbridge
It wasn’t until 2017 that we discovered Windows on the Water at Frogbridge. We had actually never head of it until three couples booked us to capture their weddings there in the same year! We loved discovering this nearby venue because it’s exactly the type of venue that we love to shoot at. 86 acres of grounds – need I say more?? We’re thrilled to be back at WOTW this year! Learn more about this venue here.
Lake Valhalla Club
The venue itself has a Tudor style exterior so we always love pulling up to it. But the real charm of this venue is its ceremony location out back. It has the most gorgeous views of the lake! We always feel like we’ve gone on a little weekend getaway when we get to shoot here. Check it out here.
Sandy Hook Chapel
If you love the ocean but aren’t a fan of the sand and would prefer a dreamy backlit ceremony rather than the harsh light at most Jersey Shore venues, Sandy Hook is perfect. The ceremony actually faces the bay so you’ll have a view of the sunset right from the tented reception. Learn more here.
Indian Trail Club
This is one of our favorite venues! I know, I think I said that a few times already but I mean, look at this ceremony location! The sun shines just beyond the lake, but those trees seem to have been put there purposefully to create the most gorgeous diffused light during the ceremony. I just love this place! After having photographed multiple weddings there in recent years, we feel right at home when we get to this venue. Learn more about ITC here.
Lake Mohawk Country Club
This is another one of those venues that makes you feel like you’ve gone on a little mini-vacation! The views of Lake Mohawk are stunning, and there are so many photo opportunities here. We’ve shot at this venue several times but no matter how many times we are there, we always look forward to capturing our couples at this gorgeous location. Click here to view more from this venue.
Liberty House
Love NYC? Liberty House is one of few venues with perfect views of the Big Apple. If you get married here you’ll have an opportunity to have cityscapes as your backdrop, but you’ll also have plenty of options for lush green because this NJ wedding venue is located at Liberty State Park. You’ll have the best of both worlds – nature and city!
These next couple of venues made it on the list because they have some unique elements in their design that we just find so romantic!
Meadow Wood Manor
The staircase at the MWM gets us every time. It’s impossible to pass by this beautiful entrance without stealing a kiss from your groom! We’ll be back here in June this year and we can’t wait!
Stone House at Stirling Ridge
We shot at the Stone House for this first time late last year and we fell in love with it immediately! This venue is nestled in a wooded area and has the perfect touch of rustic elegance mixed with modern elements. One of our favorite spots was this wine cellar where our bride and groom can escape for a few quiet moments and make some memorable images while they’re there! Click here to learn more.
Battello
Battello weddings have the best views of the city and the light-filled room gets me every time!
