It’s hard to believe that we’re already sharing our first wedding of 2018 on the blog! It feels like yesterday that I was sharing our Best of 2017 Weddings just before our three month off-season break and now here we are, already reminiscing about our first wedding of the new season. Time seems to go by so quickly these days, and wedding days have such a way of reminding us of that, because they always go so fast, too!! Anyway, here is our first wedding of the year!
The Couple
Caitlin and Jesse met thanks to mutual friends on a day when they least expected it. Actually, they met on a night when Caitlin was home, comfy in her PJs, and in for the night. Luckily, when her friend texted her to meet her for a drink and Caitlin said no, her friend persisted and that changed the course of her life because it was that night that she met Jesse. It’s crazy to think that Caitlin and Jesse’s paths may never have crossed if Caitlin had decided to just stay home. That’s a good lesson for all the single ladies out there – never say no to an opportunity to go out and enjoy life because you just never know!! =)
The Wedding Day
Caitlin and Jesse’s wedding day was the perfect way to kick off our season. These two planned a lovely wedding full of personal touches, plenty of good company, and lots of time spent with their friends and family. Not only that, but our couple designed a beautiful day. Wait until you see the details that Caitlin had for me when I arrived. A soft pink color palette, a beautiful set of gold trays, plus gorgeous juliet roses, garden roses, and eucalyptus, too.
Caitlin knew she wanted very soft, light colors for their wedding color scheme and drew her inspiration from different wedding blogs, magazines, and bridal shows. She kept a running list of ideas that she would later brainstorm and work with her friends and family to create. I love how every detail at this wedding means so much to Caitlin thanks to all the help she had from her wedding crew! I do have to give Caitlin’s father a special shout-out because he helped her create all of the wooden pieces that contributed to making this wedding so very personalized.
Caitlin and Jesse were married in a traditional ceremony at The Church of St. Rose in Belmar before heading to Clarks Landing Yacht Club for their portraits and reception. It was one of the coldest and windiest wedding days we’ve ever had, but Caitlin and Jesse were troopers. They braved the weather and even made it out to the dock at the yacht club for some beautiful backlit images at the end of their portrait session.
Caitlin and Jesse, we hope you are enjoying the beaches of Cozumel, Jamaica, and Haiti! Congratulations on your marriage!
