The Couple
Francesca and Kevin met when Francesca became the new 4th grade teacher at the same school where Kevin taught middle school social studies. It took a little while for their paths to cross but they connected by the following spring! And just a couple of springs later, they were saying their I Do’s and celebrating their wedding!
The Wedding Day
It rained the entire week leading up to Francesca and Kevin’s wedding day! Jay and I packed our big stock of umbrellas for the bride, groom, and their bridal party, and we came up with a rain plan in case we couldn’t do portraits outdoors. On the wedding day, it poured all morning, but the forecast was showing a break in the rain right around portrait time! We were so hopeful that we’d have an hour of clear skies and, somehow, that’s exactly what happened. When we opened the doors to St. Catharine’s Church after the ceremony, we were delighted to see that the rain had stopped during the ceremony and we were able to do a traditional church exit complete with bubbles and a big group of Francesca and Kevin’s students. It was perfect! After the ceremony, we headed to Divine Park in Spring Lake for portraits and their wasn’t even a slight drizzle. We got so lucky!
When it came time for the celebration, we headed to Spring Lake Golf Club. Francesca and Kevin are the sweetest people, and it is even reflected by the fact that they started their venue search based on its proximity to the church. They didn’t want their guests worrying about getting from one place to another so when they saw Spring Lake Golf Club, they new that was it. Elegant, but fun, and the farm tables were an added bonus.
You’re going to love scrolling through these images. Francesca and Kevin had such a unique and pretty color palette. They loved the idea of keeping their wedding decor clean, uniformed, and simple, and it made for such an elegant look. Francesca always loved hydrangeas because of how simple, yet beautiful they are and fell in love with them against a woven basket, so they decided to use baskets as their center pieces. Next, they designed their crest knowing that they wanted to incorporate hydrangeas and greenery throughout the wedding. They also included a bow as a nod to the Kate Spade bridesmaids’ dresses and the ribbon they used throughout their floral arrangements and reception details. Their crest designer actually worked with them to design a crest that they used everywhere. They used it in all of their paper products, cocktail napkins, stirrers, custom aprons that the staff wore, and even a custom flag to hang behind them at the reception. I love how it brought all the details together to create a cohesive wedding design.
Francesca and Kevin, your wedding day was perfect! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of such a joyous occasion. We hope you love re-living your day with this preview and wish you all the best. We can’t wait to follow along on your honeymoon adventures. San Francisco, Sonoma Valley, and a 10 day cruise to Alaska sounds absolutely dreamy. Enjoy every second!
