Ocean Place Resort Wedding

If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve seen we’re in Portugal! Jay and I took a little mid-season break to refresh and renew before the second half of our wedding season and we’ve been having a wonderful time. I’ve been posting Instastories daily so you’ll have to head to Instagram to check out our travel highlights! We’ve been loving our time here but we’ve also been chipping away at Amanda and Joe’s wedding preview all week and today we’re excited to share our first ever beach wedding with you!

I was pretty much glued to the weather forecast on the days leading up to Amanda and Joe’s wedding. Our couple had planned a beach wedding and there was rain in the forecast – lots of rain. The type of rain that lasts all day long and wouldn’t allow for a beach ceremony, let alone portraits on the beach. Amanda has always dreamt of getting married on the beach and of having wedding portraits done on the shore, so we were hopeful that the forecast would change. When we went to bed on Friday, things were still looking bleak but when we woke up on Saturday, the forecast allowed for a little bit of hope. It was pouring when Jay and I left our house but by the time we arrived at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa, the rain had stopped and it looked like Amanda and Joe would be able to use the outdoors just like they planned to.

By the time our bride and groom were ready for their first look, the sun was shining brightly and our weather worries were over! We were so relieved for Amanda and Joe and I know they definitely were, too! Now we just had to hope the weather would hold up for their beach ceremony, which it did. Amanda and Joe ended up having a perfect summer wedding on the Jersey Shore complete with a Gatsby theme, their adorable Dog of Honor walking Amanda down the aisle, the sounds of the waves hitting the shore during their ceremony, a cocktail hour overlooking the ocean, and even a beautiful cotton candy sky during their sunset portraits.

Amanda and Joe, we’re so glad everything came together for you on your wedding day!! Congratulations and enjoy your wonderful honeymoon in Paris, Bordeaux and San Sebastian!
