My first wedding of 2021 is here! I actually didn’t think I was shooting any weddings in the month of February, but Olivia and John reached out just a week before their NJ Courthouse Wedding. And I’m so glad they did because I loved being a part of this day! Olivia and John are a Canadian-American couple planning to have their big wedding celebration later this year in Canada. But, they wanted to tie the knot locally before that.
They live close to Princeton, so they chose the university campus for their photos. And, we had the best luck because it was covered in snow and looked beautiful on the day of their wedding. We used some of the most beautiful buildings as their backdrop – Nassau Hall, the Clio building, Mathey College, and Rockefeller College, too. It was a cold day, but these two were troopers! Plus, with Olivia being from Canada, she didn’t think twice about trekking around for photos. I’m so glad because it was SO worth it!
Flemington NJ Courthouse Wedding
We then headed to the Hunterdon County Courthouse in Flemington, NJ for Olivia and John to officially tie the knot. Due to the pandemic, I wasn’t able to document their ceremony. Still, I was able to get photos of them exiting the courthouse, with their loved ones, and as newlyweds! It was truly a special day and so fun to be a part of. I’m so thankful for all the pretty snow we had, and for a couple who didn’t mind the cold. They’ll have quite a story to tell about how they got married during a pandemic. On a personal note, my parents were married in a courthouse wedding similar to theirs, on a snowy January day. Although I don’t have many pictures of their wedding day, I imagine it looked a little like this one… which gives me all the feels!
Olivia and John, thank you for allowing me to document your special day! I truly loved being a part of it and am so happy for you two! Congratulations, newlyweds – you did it!!
