Over the past few weeks, we’ve covered a bunch of unique and fun getting ready photo ideas for your wedding day! Last week we looked at doing a first look with your bridesmaids, which is such a fun spin on the classic first look photos. Today in the final post of this blog series, we are going to look at another spin on the traditional first look, and my personal favorite, a Daddy Daughter First Look! This one always gets me. When brides tell me they want to incorporate a Daddy Daughter First Look, I am thrilled! I also know to have tissues on hand for everyone, including me!
There is such genuine emotion in these moments as dad sees his little girl for the first time all ready in her wedding gown. While I can’t speak from experience, I can only imagine how they must feel to see their baby all grown up, knowing he is about to give her away to her future husband. Daddy and daughters really do have a unique and special relationship. To capture this moment on your wedding day is surely a memory you and him will always cherish.
Daddy Daughter First Look
A Daddy Daughter First Look is also another great way to get out all those big day feelings. What better way to find comfort than with your dad before walking down the aisle. Sharing this moment will allow you both to steal some extra time together and prepare before the wedding ceremony starts and he escorts you down the aisle. This gives you both a little piece of time to cherish the moment, rather than feel rushed when he sees you for the first time minutes before walking down the aisle.
If you decide to do a Daddy-Daughter first look, a personalized handkerchief is a great memento for your dad, that will also come in handy for wiping away your happy tears. I also found these cute socks for your dad that he can wear on your big day. After all, he should have special socks for a special walk!
