Rob and Gianna’s summertime Skylands Manor engagement session was like something out of a fairytale. When they mentioned this as a possible location for their portraits, I was so excited! It’s one of my favorite spots in New Jersey for engagement sessions because there’s so many beautiful spots for us to explore. I love that Rob and Gianna said, ” For so many years it feels like we have been living in our own fairytale, and we wanted to showcase our love in a place that is so magical and beautiful.” What better reason to pick a spot for your portraits?
Gianna and Rob are high school sweethearts. They met through a mutual friend’s Instagram account and bonded over their love of hockey pretty quickly. Not long after, they found out they’d been living about 3 blocks away from each other without ever knowing it! As they said, they’ve been inseparable ever since! They got engaged last fall and now they’re planning a gorgeous wedding at the Mill Lakeside Manor for 2023. Rob and Gianna envision an elegant day with white, green, and blue accents full of the love they have for each other and their loved ones.
Both of us are very big hockey fans. Rob is a NY Rangers fan and I am a Boston Bruins fan. We were hanging out in my living room watching the Rangers vs Bruins game, and after the Rangers lost 6-3 Rob asked me to be his girlfriend. The rest is history!
Tell us when you knew they were the one!
I don’t think there was an exact moment in time when we knew the other was the one. For years we were teenagers just having fun. As time went on we became such important parts of each other’s lives, and couldn’t imagine a future without one another.
All about the proposal!
Rob and I have always had a love for New York City. For years I always talked about how my dream engagement would be being proposed to in front of the city skyline surrounded by family. On September 4th 2021, Rob made that dream come true! Rob proposed at Waterside Restaurant in North Bergen, NJ at sunset, in front of the city skyline. When I looked up after saying yes, I saw both our parents and siblings there! He gave me the proposal of my dreams!

Rob did an amazing job picking out my ring. He got me a beautiful, radiant cut diamond with a pave band. I absolutely love how timeless it looks, and the way it sparkles!
One thing they love about each other!
One thing I love about Rob is his kindness and willing to go out of his way to do anything for me. He always puts me first, and I love him more than anything for that.
One thing I love about Gianna is the way I can talk to her about anything and I will never feel judged. I love being able to be open with her, and I appreciate it so much.
