Congratulations, Samantha and Philip! These college sweethearts are married. In March, Samantha and Philip became husband and wife during a rainy wedding day at Park Savoy Estate. Even with all of the weather, it was a truly beautiful day. Park Savoy Estate is lovely rain or shine and has lots of gorgeous indoor spaces that we could use for portraits throughout the day!
Samantha prepared with her ladies in the beautiful suite at the estate. She brought some fun balloons and delicious mimosas for her bridal party to enjoy. Everyone had fun and I loved the mismatched pink gowns that her bridesmaids chose for the day. Thankfully the suite has a ton of natural light, so we could capture some beautiful portraits of her in her wedding dress before she went to the chapel to meet Philip for their first look.
Rainy Wedding Portraits in Park Savoy Estate Chapel
I loved doing their first look in the chapel! It was a wonderful chance to have extra portraits with their chuppah and the gorgeous florals they chose! Park Savoy’s chapel is also just beautiful on it’s own. We wound up using the space for their portraits, the bridal party, and family too before the ceremony. Samantha and Philip had a traditional Jewish ceremony with a Ketubah signing. One of the things I love most about Jewish ceremonies is the deep traditions and the involvement of family. Samantha and Philip use heirlooms from their family – the kiddush cup, tallit on their chuppah, and they also began a new tradition: a unity candle. I love that they hope it will become a family heirloom, too!
Samantha and Philip ended the night with a classic reception in the ballroom – complete with lots of dancing and even ice cream cones! It was so much fun. All of their incredible details were also published in the New York Times the month after their wedding. I’m so honored to have been able to capture the memories they shared there – and will share with their families for years to come. Congratulations, Samantha and Philip!
