Melissa and Derek had a wonderful end-of-summer wedding in NYC this past weekend and Jay and I had so much fun capturing it! They are such a fun couple with lots of wonderful friends and family that we loved spending the day with them. Melissa and Derek chose to be married at the beautiful Church of the Transfiguration, also known as the “Little Church Around the Corner,” a church dear to Derek’s heart for so many reasons. The details in this church were so incredibly gorgeous and a wonderful place for Melissa and Derek to say their I Do’s. After the ceremony, guests were transported to the reception in a double decker bus – so perfect for a NYC wedding! I just love special touches like these that make a wedding so unique. Melissa and Derek, with bridal party in tow, headed to Highline Park for pictures and the crowds loved them! Who doesn’t love to watch a bride and groom so happily in love in the middle of the Big Apple?! The fun continued at the Alger House, a 1906 converted carriage house in the Village. What a space! It was quaint and charming with eclectic decor filled with paintings, chandeliers, sculptures, and a beautiful tapestry-covered wall behind the sweetheart table. There was lots of dancing and celebrating with the newlyweds and everyone had a blast. Melissa and Derek, congratulations on your beautiful wedding and enjoy your sneak preview before heading out to your honeymoon!
