The Couple
Do you ever think about how crazy it is that so many life events have to happen just so in order for two people to meet? I think about that all the time and am reminded of it whenever I think of how Jay and I met, and I thought about it again this weekend as we discovered everything that had to fall into place in order for Christine and Alban to meet. First, Christine’s parents had to immigrate to Canada from Portugal. Second, Alban’s parents had to immigrate to New York from Albania. Third, Alban had to join the NYPD soccer team and fourth, he had to travel to Toronto for a tournament and go out one night to a local bar where Christine happened to be at the right place at the right time. Now that’s what I call fate! So many things fell into place for these two to meet, and so many more things fell into place for them to be able to settle down together in New York and figure out how to spend the rest of their lives together. Isn’t it just so romantic? It has been a pleasure getting to know Christine and Alban and hearing their inspiring love story. Since the day I met them in person at their Brooklyn Bridge Sunrise Engagement Session, I knew they were going to be fun to work with on their wedding day and I was 100% right!
The Wedding Day
Christine and Alban got ready at the Millenium Hilton with their family and friends. The morning was pretty busy for both of them, as they had a lot of friends and family to spend time with in addition to getting ready for their wedding day. Before we knew it, it was time to get dressed and leave for the ceremony. I remember when we first Skyped with Christine and Alban and we asked them how they had picked their ceremony location. Alban said that they had looked for the prettiest church in NYC! Well, they certainly found it in St. Patrick’s Cathedral! It’s the second wedding we’ve shot there and it was just as magical as the first time. It’s just such a stunning church and it has the most amazing architecture. Christine picked out a perfect Eddie K dress as well as a cathedral veil while Alban wore an elegant two-tone tuxedo that was a perfect fit for their classic and timeless NYC wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony full of sweet moments and we really couldn’t have asked for a more joyful bride and groom! These two are just such happy people, and we could all tell they were just ecstatic to finally be getting married. Once the ceremony was over, we began our photo excursion with stops at the Lotte Palace Hotel, Central Park, and Times Square before heading to Battery Gardens for the big celebration. You can see how the day unfolded in the photos below!
Christine and Alban, congratulations on your wedding! You have proven that love will always prevail and we are so excited for you to begin your lives together. Enjoy scuba-diving, surfing, and hiking in Hawaii these next couple of weeks!!
