Exactly seven years ago today, I decided that I wanted to share my photography work somewhere, but I didn’t quite know where or how. I did a few online searches and stumbled upon Blogger. They offered free blogs and were super easy to set up. Within minutes, I made an account and created this post. I didn’t quite know what I was doing, nor did I realize the impact that starting a blog would have on our business, but it was definitely the best thing I could’ve done at the time to get our work out there. Fast forward exactly seven years and 700+ blog posts later, and I’ve learned a thing or two about blogging. Throughout these last seven years, I have discovered how important blogging could be to attracting our ideal clients, promoting our work, and getting our work found online, and I have made it my mission to learn as much as possible about this topic. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve grown to really love discovering the ins and outs of blogging, and I’m passionate about teaching other photographers and creative entrepreneurs how to build a successful blog, too!
If you’re interested in learning more about this aspect of our business, you’re in luck because today I’m excited to share an episode of Focus(ed) Podcast with you. This is one of my very favorite podcasts and it’s hosted by CinnamonWolfe.co, who is an amazing resource for photographers. In this episode I had a chance to chat with Cinnamon and her husband Paul all about the history of our blog, the impact our blog has had on our business, and the role our blog plays in our business today. I also share helpful advice for photographers who are just starting out with blogging as well as tips for how to make blogging more manageable. If you give it a listen, I promise you’ll walk away with plenty of actionable items to improve your own blog, plus you’ll get to meet Cinnamon and Paul and I know you’re going to love them! Each week, they share educational content on their podcast that will help you grow your business. Podcasts like this one didn’t exist back when we started our own business so you’re lucky to have these two – they are making such a difference in the photography industry!
