I have such an amazing wedding to share with you today! Hannah and Matt were married last Saturday and this one was for the books! With the help of our dear friend Jeanne from Bogath Weddings & Events, these two planned a beach wedding on Long Beach Island, where they love to vacation. But since 2018 is officially the year of rainy day forecasts on wedding days, their plans were up in the air right up until just before the ceremony. All day long everyone was checking the weather forecast and we were hoping the rain would let up at least for their portraits and ceremony but the forecast kept changing and keeping us in suspense.
In the meantime, Hannah and Matt shared the sweetest first look at Hannah’s family beach house and even in the rain under umbrellas, it was picture perfect. Hannah got the best reaction from her groom and there were lots of happy tears! Once we arrived at Brant Beach Yacht Club, it was still drizzling but Hannah and Matt were such troopers! I love the spirit of our brides – nothing can stop them from beautiful portraits – not even a little rain. I’m so glad that Hannah and Matthew shared a first look and scheduled their portraits before all the wedding day events because it allowed us to capture them with the most beautiful beach backdrop. If they had waited until after the ceremony to do their photos, they wouldn’t have had these and we would have been so disappointed! But luckily our couple’s motto all day long was “Let’s do this!” and it worked out to their advantage. Hannah also had the best approach to her dress “I’m only going to wear it once!” We loved this because she wasn’t afraid to get a little wet!! The best bride, I tell you!! We had their entire portrait session outdoors with just a little drizzle! It wasn’t until we got to bridal party photos that it started to truly pour but luckily we had a covered porch that kept everyone (except me, ha!) sheltered.
When it came time for the ceremony it had stopped raining so Hannah and Matt decided to risk it and have their ceremony outdoors. It started to rain on and off but by then, no one cared! Their guests were amazing! Some of them had umbrellas and some didn’t but it didn’t matter – everyone was committed to being there for Hannah and Matt regardless of the rain and it was the most incredible sight. Hannah and Matt are so loved and it was so apparent on their wedding day! We are so excited to share this beautiful day with you all.
Hannah and Matt, thank you, thank you, thank you! Your positive attitude and high spirits were amazing and we’re so grateful for that. It was thanks to your optimism and relaxed approach to the day that we were able to capture all these images for you. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple to work with on this day – may you always find the support, joy, and love in each other that you shared on your wedding day. Congratulations!
