I don’t even know where to start with this blog post! When Jay and I met Reema and Eric last fall we immediately connected with them and were beyond excited that they trusted us to photograph our first Hindu wedding ceremony. All throughout the wedding planning process, Reema took the time to explain the customs and traditions that we would document on their wedding day and we loved learning about every single element of an Indian wedding day. From the lively arrival of the groom during the Baraat to the exchange of garlands, to the tearful farewell to the bride by Bidai, every element of their wedding day was emotional. Their ceremony took place under a vibrant and colorful mandap where we had the privilege of documenting the fascinating rituals and traditions of Reema’s family. After their ceremony, Reema changed into a beautiful white gown and Eric into a khaki suit, perfect for their portraits on the golf course and then they celebrated their marriage with one of the most energetic groups of family and friends that we’ve ever met. My favorite part of the reception was the Bollywood-themed dance and skit that Reema and Eric’s friends and family prepared for them. It was just one of the many ways that everyone showed the couple how loved they are. Reema and Eric, thank you for inviting us into your lives in such a wonderful way and for allowing us to document this beautiful day for you. We are so excited to share some of our favorite images from the day. Enjoy!
A big thank you to Jharna for being such a professional and meticulous wedding planner and coordinator and to Jamie for shooting with us that day and helping us capture so many wonderful moments for our couple.
