So far May has been such a rainy month so I’m quite thankful that April had some beautiful spring days, and right during peak season of the cherry blossoms, too! I met up with Brittany and Ryan at Branch Brook Park during the third week in April when the trees were in full bloom and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer morning. The trees were beautiful and since it was so early in the morning, we had the park all to ourselves! I always love shooting in the blossoms but it’s even all the more special when we can avoid the tourists on a quiet morning.
Brittany and Ryan met in college at Towson University through mutual friends, and they started officially dating second semester of senior year in 2013. They have been together for around 6 1/2 years now! I loved getting to know them during their session and am already so excited for their wedding at Indian Trail Club next year. Their wedding is going to be romantic and rustic. They’ll be tying the knot outdoors and the decor will include lots of greenery, florals, and candles. I can’t wait to see it all come together but for now, check out their cherry blossom engagement photos and love story below.
Cherry Blossom Engagement
Their first date
“He took me out to dinner in Little Italy in Baltimore and had some of the best pasta of our lives! Afterward we got stuck in the pouring rain.”
When they knew they had found the one
He says: “I’ve always known”
She says: “When I introduced him to my friends and family, they immediately loved him and it was the best feeling since they are all so important to me. Since then it has never even been a question! We are able to have so much fun together whether it be the little things to traveling the world. We are traveling to Prague, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen next month!”
The Proposal
“It was my birthday weekend, and we planned to go to dinner at the Liberty House in Jersey City on Friday night to celebrate. Before dinner, he asked if I wanted to go for a walk in Liberty State Park where the restaurant is located, which is our favorite park. We love going for walks there in the summer and riding bikes along the trail. We walked along the water, and when we got to a certain spot he stopped and got down on one knee. After he put the ring on my finger and I was hysterical crying, he told me to turn around. I looked up on the hill and his best friend Mikey came running down the hill and captured the whole thing on camera. The next day, he rented out a rooftop bar in NYC and surprised me with all our family and friends to celebrate!”
All About the Ring
It is an oval shape with diamond band. He’s known I’ve always wanted an oval shape, but he completely picked it out on his own and I couldn’t be happier with how beautiful it is!
One thing they love about each other
He says: “She is the most genuine and loving person I know. I love how she always puts others before herself.”
She says: “I love how hardworking and driven he is. He is extremely personable and loved by everyone, caring, and always knows how to make me feel special and put a smile on my face.”
