It’s finally May and there’s no better way to kick off a new month than with an epic cherry blossom engagement session! Kenesha and Frank knew they wanted their engagement session among the cherry blossoms so we started to plan months ago. The cherry blossoms are only in bloom for a short while and we wanted to catch them during peak season. Since winter in NJ lasted what seemed like forever, the cherry blossoms took their time in blossoming this year and we ended up rescheduling the session a couple of times. Luckily, it was well worth the wait because we caught the cherry blossoms at the perfect time! Kenesha and Frank even got up at the crack of dawn to make sure that we had Branch Brook Park all to ourselves. It was the perfect morning! Well, almost perfect – it was actually really cold that day! You can’t even tell in these pictures, though, because Kenesha was such a trooper!
France is Kenesha’s favorite place on earth so when dreaming of her wedding, she was drawn to the French theme that dominates the style of the elegant Park Chateau Estate and Gardens. Kenesha and Frank are planning a classic, modern, and chic wedding there for next year and I already know it’s going to be beautiful! I love that they’ve already prioritized spending as much time as possible on their wedding day by sharing a first look and leaving plenty of time for photos on their wedding day. Not to mention prioritizing cocktail hour for Frank, ha! One of the most meaningful details of the day is that Kenesha and Frank are planning a dual ceremony officiated by Kenesha’s uncle who is a Protestant Pastor as well as a Catholic priest. I can’t wait to see everything come together for this Jamaican beauty and her Italian groom! This wedding can’t come soon enough but for now, enjoy this peek at their engagement photos with the cherry blossoms.

How they met
“I was a bridesmaid in my best friend Kelly’s wedding; Frank was a groomsman and cousin of the groom. We first met at the rehearsal dinner and to be honest, I cannot say sparks flew. It was at the reception where we really connected. You could not get us off the dance floor. :)”
Their first date
“I knew Frank was the one very early on in the relationship. It was easy, and simple – it was as if 2 absolutely different pieces of a puzzle fit perfectly together.”
All about the ring
“My ring was custom made by a family member who is a jeweler. We picked the diamond out together (I believe I would be drawn the the energy of the right stone…weirdo I know). My favorite part is of course the stone.”
The proposal
“We went out for date night at one of our favorite restaurants on Staten Island. I remember coming home and noticing that the lights in our house were on. I also remember thinking, “I was pretty sure I turned the lights off” however thought nothing of it. I walked into our home and it was filled with red roses and hand written love notes (which I saved). Confused, I followed the trail of roses and at the end was the ring in its box. I turned around and Frank was down on one knee and asking me to marry me. It was perfect.”
One thing they love about each other
Kenesha: “I love that Frank has an amazing heart and soul. He is pure good and we need more of him in the world.”
Frank: “Her sassiness, selflessness and willingness to put the needs of others above herself.”
