If you remember the weather last Sunday, you may remember how badly it was pouring! The weather forecast showed 100% rain and that’s exactly what we got. But that didn’t mean we weren’t going to get beautiful photos and hope for the rain to let up at some point during Kristin and David’s wedding!
Kristin and David had an elegant Eagle Manor wedding day that I felt so honored to be a part of. When they planned their wedding day, they told me they wanted to keep the vision of the day in mind at all times. They hoped for a day that felt wholehearted, authentic, wild and free yet classic… and I think they nailed it! With an elegant fall color palette of navy, gray, blush, champagne, pale peach, and burnt orange filling the spaces around Eagle Manor, everything felt so autumn-like and so beautiful!
Fall New Jersey Wedding
These two actually got engaged while New Jersey was still shut down due to the pandemic. And, while they were just poking around to see if they could get married in 2020, they stumbled across Eagle Manor. When they realized the could rent the Manor House for the whole weekend, they were in! Their entire day was very family-centered and so it felt like a great (and exciting) family vacation for them all!
When we saw the weather forecast for that day, we made some slight changes here and there. But, honestly, everything ended up working out so well! We moved the first look indoors in front of the beautiful French doors of the manor, used the front patio to shield Kristin and David from the rain during portraits, and we all kept an eye on the weather during the reception so we could go outside. It paid off because the rain did let up right after these two cut their cake, and Kristin and David took me up on the offer to do some more portraits outdoors at that point. I was so thankful for their flexibility!
My favorite part of this day was seeing Kristin and David with their children. They incorporated them by giving them important roles (including the best man role for David’s son!), having them be a part of their sand ceremony, and making sure their children were enjoying the big day just as much as they were. Anyone who was at the wedding could definitely feel all the love this family has for each other and it was so heartwarming.
Kristin and David, thank you for allowing me to capture your special day! I hope you enjoy your honeymoon through the Shenandoah Valley and have plenty of time to explore nature, slow down, and breathe in some alone time!
