Jessica and Ryan were engaged this past summer and scheduled their engagement session almost as quickly as they shared the news of the engagement with friends and family! I just love that kind of excitement! They knew they wanted fall engagement photos and planned the most adorable farm engagement session, complete with blankets and pillows in the back of Ryan’s truck. This engagement session is what fall is all about – cuddling with the one you love while you breathe in the crisp autumn air. Jess and Ryan, congratulations on your engagement! You are an amazing couple and I know everyone who knows you can’t wait to see you married! Looking forward to your big day at Pat’s 30 Acres! How they met: Ryan and I met at the one place you should never meet your future husband: at the bar! We were both with a friend for a country night happy hour because we both love country music. On our first date we went out to dinner and then for a walk on the beach. We both joke about how we went for this romantic walk on the beach and on the jetty we sat together, but he didn’t kiss me! When he dropped me off at home that night is when he finally did, but I always tease him about being out on the jetty….which as it turns out is where we got engaged!
The proposal: The night we got engaged we went to a nice dinner and then to the boardwalk and played air hockey at the boardwalk. Ryan used to play ice hockey and always would say he could beat me in air hockey and I refused to believe it. That night we played about 6 games and I lost every one haha. Then on our way home we stopped at the beach and he took me out on the jetty where we went on our first date and proposed on the rocks, it was awesome and so thoughtful. I don’t want to sound cliché, but I think as soon as we sat down at the bar to talk that first night we knew we had something special. We sat and talked for over an hour about music, our families, our jobs and sports and just felt so comfortable around each other. We stopped drinking as soon as we sat down and started talking and just blabbed on and on. We dated awhile and then were apart for a few months until we ran into each other buying coffee before work. We had spent a lot of time missing each other and when we got back together the 2nd time we knew what we had was something really special and that we weren’t letting each other go.
What she loves about him: There are so many things I love about Ryan….He is so loving/caring, loyal, but most of all he is hard-working and would do anything for friends or family. His friends could call for a ride and he’d go pick them up anywhere and he has helped almost my entire family move at one point or another. Actually, the day after we got engaged we helped my aunt and her 4 kids move in with my grandmother. He borrowed a trailer and hitched it up to his truck, carried all her furniture down the stairs and then unpacked it all and back up the stairs at my grandmothers. He is like a work horse! And then because we had been so busy that day he took off work the next day just so we could spend the day together enjoying and celebrating the engagement, which was so sweet. Anything you ever need, a ride, money, an ear to listen, a hug when your down, help picking up something insanely heavy :-) he is always there not only for me, but for my family, his family and our friends. He really is unbelievable.
What Jess is excited for on the wedding day: Besides getting married the thing I am most excited about is having all our friends and family together. His family is so welcoming and includes mine whenever they are celebrating birthdays or holidays. Our mothers are quickly becoming friends as is the rest of our family. I can’t wait for our wedding day to celebrate with all of them together in one place and have beautiful pictures to remember it all by.
