If you’re anything like us, you wait until the last minute to do your Christmas shopping! Jay and I actually have a tradition of doing all of our holiday shopping on December 24th. We start in the morning and we’re done in time to make it to Christmas Eve mass with Jay’s parents and sisters. After dinner, we come home and do all the wrapping while we listen to Christmas carols and eat candy canes. We don’t recommend it for everyone (especially if you have children!) but it works for us and we love the craziness of it all! Anyway, today I thought I’d share some last-minute gift ideas in case you’re still in search of that perfect gift for your favorite photographer.I included links to these items on Amazon when possible so if you have Amazon Prime you can still get some of these online in time for Christmas if you order soon! Otherwise, you can always stop by your local camera store (We love The Photo Center in Brick!). Here are my ideas, starting with the least expensive.
10 Last-Minute Gift Ideas for Photographers
- Camera Lens Travel Mug | Every photographer needs one of these! It makes the perfect little gift and it’s always so entertaining to see people’s puzzled faces when they see you drinking out of what they think is a camera lens!
- Lens Pen | A lens pen is a great stocking stuffer! A photographer can never have too many of these to clean lenses on the run. You can find these at any local camera store.
- Picture Perfect Posing by Roberto Valenzuela | This is a wonderful book that would make a perfect gift for the photographer who wants to learn about posing.
- ShutterMag Subscription | This is one of my best gift ideas if I do say so myself! It’s the gift that keeps on giving for an entire year and I love that!
- ExpoDisc | This is a great gift for an amateur photographer who may not want to shoot on Auto White Balance anymore but isn’t ready for Kelvin. In other words, it’s a good gift idea for the amateur photographer who is looking to grow!
- UGG Fingerless gloves | It may be unseasonably warm right now but the cold weather is approaching and fingerless gloves are the way to go for photographers. I don’t own these specific UGG ones but they look SO amazing and I think they would make any photographer happy (a female photographer, that is!).
- Fotostrap Gift Certificate | I actually don’t shoot weddings with a camera strap anymore but I do use one for my newborn sessions and I love my Fotostrap. Not only are these camera straps super cute but with every purchase, Fotostrap donates 10% of proceeds to Fotolanthropy, a non-profit that gives portrait sessions and short films to inspiring people who are overcoming adversity. Love that! And you can purchase a gift certificate right online! Bonus tip: add the monogram option =)
- Kelly Moore Gift Certificate | If you’re looking to spend a little more money then I would definitely recommend a gift certificate to the Kelly Moore shop. I just love these camera bags! If you want to read up on these bags I’ve actually blogged about Kelly Moore bags before here and here.
- Canon 50mm 1.4 | This is a great lens for the photographer who is ready to venture out the comfort zone of the kit lens. It’s a great portrait lens and it’s affordable, too!
- Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 | This one is the priciest of my gift ideas but if you are looking to spoil the photographer in your life, this would be it. Jay and I usually shoot with Canon lenses but I do have this one Sigma Art lens and I love it so much. It is such a gem of a lens and I couldn’t live without it. You can read more about it here.
So there you have it! I hope this list of 10 last-minute gift ideas for photographers is useful to you! Happy Shopping!!
