Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to take a styling workshop with Joanna of Hazel Dust Studio. I randomly discovered this East Brunswick, NJ florist and stylist on Instagram and immediately fell in love with her aesthetic. It has a French-inspired feel to it and, having majored in French Literature and lived in France on two occasions many years ago, I’m a total francophile, so her overall style is just so lovely to me!
On the day of the workshop, I was greeted so warmly by Joanna, who showed me her studio and was so welcoming. I loved seeing all the antiques she has and learning more about her business. Joanna is a fine art wedding florist and event stylist and she has some unique offerings that I was excited to learn about. If you’re on the hunt for a florist and love romantic, garden-style floral arrangements, I encourage you to reach out to Joanna. Not only is she amazingly talented, but she also offers styling services that include access to her wonderful collection of antiques. I’m so excited to work with her on a few projects this upcoming season!
Here are a few images I snapped of the area of her studio where the workshop was held:
Once we got started, I had the opportunity to photograph a few flatlays that Joanna had set up for me. Here are some of my favorite images:
Next, Joanna encouraged me to style my own flatlay using some of the tips she shared. It was so fun to create this. Not only because I’ve been deprived of weddings due to all the postponements but also because she had so many antique items to choose from that I just loved. I love how this turned out:
I hope you enjoyed this little peek at my visit to Hazel Dust Studio! Here are the vendors featured in this post:
