The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the wedding industry greatly the last couple of months and countless couples have found themselves having to re-think their wedding plans. In recent weeks, I’ve been getting a lot of couples inquiring about photography for their intimate wedding. Some of these couples have postponed their big celebrations until 2021 but still wish to tie the knot on their original wedding date, and other couples simply want to have an intimate wedding with just their closest family members.
Having had an intimate wedding myself, I can understand perfectly the desire to host a small gathering for your wedding. As much as I love large scale weddings with lively dance floors, I can still appreciate the beauty of an intimate wedding or elopement. When my husband and I got married, we had only eleven of our closest family and friends with us and both the sentiment and experience were truly unforgettable. Our intimate wedding allowed us to spend a lot of quality time with each other and our loved ones and it made for a unique experience.
If your wedding has been postponed, perhaps an intimate wedding on your original wedding date has been on your mind, like it is for so many of our current couples. Whether that means eloping to a favorite beach, gathering with your closest family members at a local park, or tying the knot at the courthouse, if an intimate wedding feels right to you, I want to encourage you to remember to have it well documented. Any wedding – large or small – deserves to be captured beautifully. After all, it’s part of your unique story and the beginning of your life together.
No matter how small the wedding, I would love to be a part of it, so I’m excited to share that I’m now offering intimate wedding photography collections. These collections include:
- a custom wedding day timeline to help you envision your wedding day
- access to my list of preferred wedding vendors specializing in intimate affairs
- a minimum of two hours of coverage for pre-ceremony, ceremony, and post-ceremony photos with one photographer.
- option to include an heirloom album and/or parent albums so that you have a tangible memory of your day to pass on to your children and grandchildren some day
I’m sure that whatever you decide to do for your wedding will be perfect for you, but if you are choosing to have an intimate wedding due to the pandemic, know that it will be beautiful! Because what’s more beautiful than two people promising their love to each other forever, come what may?
Marriage is about celebrating the love you have for one another and love is not cancelled this year so, as our state gets ready to reopen, I am already looking forward to all the unique weddings that will happen this year!
