Elizabeth and Matt met online, around the time they had both almost given up on online dating. Elizabeth remembers Matt making her laugh right from the very beginning. They texted for a few days before they planned their first meeting and Elizabeth tried to keep her expectations low so she could avoid being disappointed while Matt was more hopeful. When Elizabeth told him not to get too excited, that they might just hate each other, Matt said this time was different, and it was the first of many occasions that Matt was right! By the time they met, they were both blown away by how comfortable they were with each other and how easy it was being together. It was the perfect start to their relationship, if you ask me! They chose Liberty State Park for their engagement session and I had a great time getting to know these two and seeing firsthand how well they click. They warmed up to the camera right away and made it so easy for me! I can’t wait for their Indian Trail Club wedding next year but for now, enjoy getting to know them a bit!

Their first date:
“I was so nervous! We both had a strict first date rule where you only plan drinks, no dinner, just in case! Within the first five minutes of meeting each other we had asked for a table and menus. There was this overall feeling of comfort when I was with Matt. We were able to talk about just about anything with no pressure. It felt like I had known him for years. Before we left the restaurant Matt asked me out again… for 2 days later. We saw each other three times in the first week! I still remember what we each wore that night and an overwhelming feeling of excitement.”
When they knew they had found the One:
“I was teaching first grade at a catholic school when we met. One night Matt came over and spent hours hot gluing gingerbread houses together for my kids. He is by no means “crafty” and not necessarily very good at that kind of stuff. However he pushed through and we were able to spend some time together. He didn’t complain once even though it was a Thursday night during football season! I knew then that he was something special.”
The proposal:
“Matt had planned a birthday party for me. We were in the city for a night of fun with all of my closest friends and family. I was only expecting balloons, cake and some cocktails! We started the night with a romantic dinner for two at a delicious Mediterranean restaurant. After a super quick dinner Matt led me to a beautiful rooftop bar nearby. It was an uncharacteristically warm night for December 12! We sat at a table and ordered a few cocktails. Before they got there Matt jumped from his chair, making a big scene by knocking the chair over and causing the whole crowd to turn and look at us. I was looking behind him thinking someone spilled something down his back and when I turned around he was on one knee. After some cheers and champagne we went to my party where no one but his family knew what had just happened! I got to tell all of my favorite people, in person, that I was marrying the most amazing man!”

“I love her because she loves me for me; my good, my bad, my ugly. I am never afraid that something I do or say will ever change that. I love her because she makes me feel truly special. To everyone else I am just Matt, but to her I am everything. I love her because there is nobody else I would rather spend my time with. We only get so many hours in this life and every single one I spend with her is better that the others. I love her because she inspires me to be better. I am not the most optimistic person, but she continues to make me feel like I can achieve anything. I mostly love her because every single time I see her she is happy to see me. She puts on a huge smile and has genuine excitement in her eyes. Everyone needs to find the person that feels that way about them, there is no better feeling.”
Besides getting married, one thing they are looking forward to on their wedding day:
“Having all of our closest family and friends in one room to celebrate. We can’t wait to dance the night away to a great band with excellent cocktails and even better people!”
