Eduardo and Emma’s Longwood Gardens proposal was such a special and beautiful one! This September, Eduardo and Emma flew up from Florida to Pennsylvania for this beautiful session and the two got engaged at the beautiful Longwood Gardens. We love the photos that our associate photographer Jocelyn captured that day. From a custom-designed ring, to a stunning location, to a beautiful couple, this proposal was beyond perfect!
Their Love Story
Eduardo and Emma attended the same high school, but didn’t really interact until they were both students at Florida International University. Emma commented on one of Eduardo’s Instagram posts and they began to talk online. Eduardo offered to give her a tour of the campus in real life and shared all of his best tips with her, including food spots and secret shortcuts! They ended the tour in the game room, where they played their first game of ping pong together. Emma says she wasn’t even looking for a relationship but theirs progressed naturally (and fast!) as friends. They felt like they’d known each of other forever.
Before long, they had their first date at SpecialTea, a cafe in the area. Eduardo remembers being pretty nervous: “I wanted to give a good first-impression, so I studied the menu the previous night. I am glad I did because there were hundreds of possible tea combinations. However, no amount of studying could prepare me for how hot the tea would be.” It was so sweet! They played board games and talked all night – something they still love to do together. Enjoy a peek into their beautiful Longwood Gardens proposal and engagement portraits!
Thank you, Eduardo and Emma for allowing us the honor of capturing this amazing proposal!

Eduardo: “I fell in love with Emma right away. She is a ray of sunlight, constantly radiating warmth and joy. I think the moment that really solidified it for me was when we first held hands and walked together through campus. I probably had a big grin on my face the entire time, but it didn’t matter. No one makes me feel the way she makes me feel when we are together.”
Emma: “I know Eddy is the one because being with him is just so easy. He has always accepted and loved me the way I am and I can be myself around him. A gesture that made me realize how special Eddy is was on our first Valentine’s Day. We had planned our gift exchange after class and he knew my close friend would be with me so he had surprised her with a gift as well to not feel left out! For him to not only think of me but also my loved ones, I knew at that moment that he was someone to hang onto.”
Eduardo: “We got engaged on Emma’s birthday, during our Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens. It was all planned and Emma was expecting it. But her shocked reaction was genuine. Thankfully, we had someone record the engagement because she was so stunned that she had trouble understanding what I said when I proposed. Jocelyn did a great job capturing the moment and I couldn’t ask for a better set of photos to immortalize the moment.”
Emma: “I knew it was coming! I planned the whole thing! Months prior we had designed my ring, shopped for our outfits, chose the proposal location and booked our trip. Even after all that planning, the moment Eddy got down on one knee, I blanked out! My heart was racing, my hearing was temporarily lost and my stomach was in knots. I was in a state of shock! Luckily for me I only rehearsed one line in the years he and I have been together and I said “Yes.””
Emma: “Eddy makes me feel so loved with his selflessness and thoughtfulness. For example, he had surprised me after our engagement photoshoot with a birthday cake, decorations and wine since it was also my 29th birthday that day. I was so stunned because he and I were so busy getting ready but he managed to sneak out while I was getting my hair and make up done to set up our room in the inn!”
