I am so excited to be sharing this beautiful Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding styled shoot with you! Jeanne of Bogath Events designed this gorgeous shoot and I had a blast photographing our real-life couple, Adam and Alexa. Mallard Island Yacht Club is an absolutely stunning wedding venue on Long Beach Island, one of my favorite places – especially for spring and summer weddings. This entire styled wedding was full of the most fun details and a perfect summer palette. I’m so pleased to share that it is now published in the 2023 summer issue of Bay Magazine!
Spring Wedding at Mallard Island Yacht Club
When Jeanne reached out and shared the inspiration with me for this Mallard Island Yacht Club wedding, I was totally on board. She chose a beautiful palette featuring lots of pastels – pinks and blue-greens especially – paired with traditional ivory and gold details. Mallard Island Yacht Club has a lot of ivory and grey that’s found throughout the venue and the ballroom has a fun pop of robin blue. The summer palette that was chosen was perfect for this space. Not to mention, all of the blues from the water around LBI helped tie everything together, too! I started the styled shoot much like I start wedding days – with our beautiful bride in the getting ready suite. Mallard Island Yacht Club’s bridal suite is over the top. With a stunning bed and space for the bride to rest, it was the best possible way to begin our day onsite. Alexa wore two different gowns throughout our styled shoot. One was more sleek and chic. The other had a fun textured skirt that trailed behind her. Both were great to photograph and play in!
Long Beach Island Wedding Day Inspiration
After Alexa was ready and all of the beautiful details (like the gorgeous invitation suite!) were photographed, we walked to the ceremony space on site. Mallard couples love to host their ceremonies in the boathouse with the stone fireplace that sits right on the water. It’s SO romantic. Reynolds Garden Shop created a display of pink and white flowers to drape on the mantle. When we were done there, it was time to head to the ballroom. Filled to the brim with vintage china, gold chargers, pink glassware, and lots of romantic white candles, it was an elegant setup sure to inspire many LBI wedding days! Alexa and Adam got to enjoy a fun little tour of the setups, including the tall tiered cake from Sweet Melissa’s Boutique Bakery! When we finished up there, Alexa switched gowns and we focused on some outdoor portraits along the waterfront and in the outdoor reception seating area. Those outdoor seating areas are a trend I hope continues – they’re always so fun! Mallard Island Yacht Club sits right on the water. It’s the perfect backdrop for portraits and your reception alike.
A huge thank you to this amazing vendor team for putting together such a beautiful summer wedding day at Mallard Island Yacht Club! I loved photographing every detail and I hope that so many couples find inspiration for their own Long Beach Island wedding days here!
