When Erin inquired about having us capture her and Tim’s wedding day I immediately thought that Tim’s last name looked familiar to me. I did a little Facebook stalking (that’s what you would do, too, right?) and realized we had worked together for a year back when I was still teaching. It turns out that he’s engaged now and we’re practically neighbors, too! Who would have thought back then that our paths would cross again and that I’d be shooting his wedding next year! I always thought Tim was the nicest, most genuine guy, and I’m thrilled that he has found himself a perfect match in Erin.
For their engagement session, we met up at Manasquan Inlet on a perfect summer evening. We spent the first part of the session in Fisherman’s Cove for the glowiest light and then made our way out to the ocean as the light got softer towards the end of the day. It was such a pleasure spending a couple of hours with these two and hearing about all the progress they’ve made in their wedding planning. Erin is a teacher so of course she had to get a lot checked off on the to do list before going back to school last week. We’re so excited to see all their planning come together and celebrate with their family and friends at The Grand Marquis next summer!
Here is a peek into their engagement photos and details about their sweet love story!

How they met
“We are from the same hometown, but we went to different elementary and middle schools. We officially met freshman year of high school and had almost every class together.”
Their first date
Erin: “We were always good friends throughout high school. During our senior year, Tim asked me to go to the movies with him.”
Tim: “We saw Halloween (Erin hates scary movies). The movie ended pretty late and she drove home alone on the dark back roads, something she would never do now lol!”
When they knew they had found the one
Tim: “I always felt Erin was very special from the moment that we started seeing each other. As our relationship developed, my feelings for her got stronger and stronger. I wouldn’t say there was one specific moment, I just knew she was the one for me.”
Erin: “Tim and I officially started dating in June. Tim had to leave for college early. He was playing football and had to start camp in the beginning of August. Tim went to school in Delaware and I went to school in Pennsylvania. We wanted to stay together and have a long distance relationship. From that moment on, I knew he was the one.”
The proposal
Tim: “I took Erin to Manasquan and proposed to her on the boardwalk because we both love the beach. After the proposal, we had dinner reservations at Belmontes in Asbury. I planned to have both of our families there to surprise her when we walked in. After dinner, we walked across the street to Asbury Ale House. Erin thought we were just grabbing a quick drink, but I surprised her again with all of our close friends there for an open bar. We celebrated all night with our closest family and friends.”
Erin: “It was the best day! Tim planned everything so well! He had one surprise after the other. I had no idea that our families would be sitting in the restaurant, or that our friends were across the street waiting for us at the bar. I love how he thought out everything and included our family and friends.”
One thing they love about each other
Tim: “I love Erin’s infectious personality. She always makes me laugh and we have the best time together.”
Erin: “It is hard to pick just one thing, but I would say how caring and considerate Tim is. He is so supportive and is always there for his loved ones.”
What they’re looking forward to on the wedding day
“We are looking forward to celebrating with the people we love most!”
