Alexandra and Josh chose one of my favorite places for their engagement session. The Manasquan Reservoir is my absolute favorite place to run and it’s always so incredibly gorgeous at this time of the year. It’s such a perfect spot for a fall engagement session! I loved meeting and photographing Alex and Josh – they were such naturals in front of the camera and their entire session screams “I love you and I can’t wait to marry you!” Scroll away to see some of my favorites from their session and to read the story of their love. Enjoy!
How they met
Josh and I met through mutual friends during a night out. Although there were few words said, we danced, laughed and exchanged numbers. The next day, Josh called me and asked me on a date. We both agree it was the best date of our lives, from then on we were inseparable.
The first date
Alex: I can probably remember every detail about our first date. I was so nervous and did not know what to expect but as soon as I saw his smile it made everything a lot easier. We went to a small local sushi restaurant and talked for what seemed like hours. I have never felt so comfortable being myself around someone especially on the first date.
Josh: I remember our 1st date like it was yesterday. Alex was the most beautiful girl sitting across from me at anytime in my life. Our first date was at one of my favorite sushi restaurants, and it went great because she was so easy to talk to and laugh with. I will never forget how her adorable laugh pulled me in forever.
When they knew
Alex: I knew he was the one when we couldn’t be away from each other. After our first date, we saw each other almost every day. Josh was the first person to ever open the car door for me. He is a true gentleman and my best friend. He can make me laugh and smile like never before.
The proposal
The proposal was one out of a fairy tale. Since the say we met have always wanted to catch the sunrise on the beach but have never had the opportunity. On September 28 was finally our opportunity. Little did I know, Josh was going to propose. It was a perfect morning. Not a cloud in the sky and the only two on the beach. We woke up early, brought blankets and relaxed with each other with a very peaceful setting. As the sun started to rise, Josh set up his phone with a timer so that we can get the perfect picture of the two of us. As I was waiting for Josh to get in the picture, he got on one knee and said “before we take the picture, I have a question for you, will you marry me?” I immediately said yes and began to cry. Later on when we looked at the picture, the phone had captured the best picture, and the best moment of our life.
What they love about each other
Alex: I love how Josh is my best friend. We can laugh and be ourselves around each other.
Josh: I love how sensitive and caring Alex is. She has such a big heart.
What they’re looking forward to on their wedding day
Alex: I can’t wait to see Josh at the end of the aisle. It will be a dream come true.
Josh: I am looking forward to seeing how beautiful Alex looks in her white dress as she walks down the aisle.
