Just about a month ago we shared Lauren and Evan’s Sandy Hook engagement photos here on the blog and just like that, today we get to share a preview of their wedding day! Lauren and Evan met thanks to mutual friends and connected over their mutual love for Lord of the Rings movies. Evan proposed to Lauren on the Tower Bridge during a trip to London (can we say romantic?) and since then, they planned a classic and elegant wedding at Meadow Wood Manor. I love how their wedding came together and am so excited to share it with you today!
The Wedding Day
Lauren chose a lace fit and flare gown from Essense of Australia. Its sweetheart neckline, subtle sparkle layer, and beautiful lace train were just a few of the reasons why Lauren fell in love with the dress, and she knew it was the one when her two sisters and mother cried as soon as they saw her in it. Lauren added several special touches to her finished look, such as a piece of her mother’s wedding dress sewn into the inside of her dress as her “something old”, her one grandmother’s wedding band as her “something borrowed”, and a pendant from her other grandmother. She also had handkerchiefs from each one of her grandfathers. When it came time for Evan to see her, she looked gorgeous!! Not to mention that she had the most beautiful bouquet full of white hydrangeas, burgundy dahlias, ranunculus, cymbidium orchids, astilbe, sahara roses, and berries! The berries really gave the bouquet that perfect fall look – wait until you see it! Evan looked dapper in his custom suit and I have to say that we just loved the blue, gray, and burgundy combination. His suit really brought together the entire color palette of the wedding.
After a sweet First Look, Lauren and Evan were joined by their bridal party and family members before heading to Meadow Wood Manor for their ceremony. The ceremony took place in the venue’s outdoor courtyard and our couple had the best day for it: temperatures in the mid-70’s and the prettiest shade of yellows and light oranges in the trees made for the perfect fall wedding that Lauren and Evan had dreamt of. My favorite part of the day, though, was getting to witness how perfectly these newlyweds complement each other. They had both been nervous during the earlier part of the day but once they saw each other, everything was perfect and all day long, I caught these little looks exchanged between them that I know just calmed the other’s nerves and made them feel at ease so they could just relax and enjoy their wedding day and the company of their loved ones.
Lauren and Evan, what a perfect day you had!! Congratulations to you both and best wishes for a fabulous honeymoon in Japan!! Enjoy discovering the culture, touring the temples, climbing Mt. Fuji, and celebrating Evan’s 30th! But first, here is a preview of your wedding photos!
