One of our favorite things to do when we travel is people watch. Jay and I always look forward to late afternoon ice cream at an outdoor cafe so we can watch people pass by, listen to foreign languages, and of course, snap photos of strangers. These first two images were taken in a little town called Kotor, located on the Bay of Kotor of Montenegro. The Old City of Kotor was built between the 12th and 14th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a walled city with narrow alleyways much like the ones in Venice. We spent the day exploring the labyrinthine stone town while enjoying its old world serenity and pace. First up is Jay’s shot, then mine:
Another highlight of our time in Montenegro was our visit to Sveti Stefan, an islet in the Adriatic Sea that is home to a private resort for the rich (aka not for backpackers like us). It is connected to the mainland by a pedestrian causeway that is reserved for those who are staying at the resort. Needless to say, Jay and I were disappointed not to be able to visit but the views of the islet from the mainland were stunning nonetheless.
