Last fall, I had the pleasure of meeting Naomey and George for their Cape May engagement session and hearing all about their love story. George and Naomey met at a Lebanese church festival in New Brunswick, NJ. Naomey wasn’t even going to go out that night but her sister convinced her to go to the festival. Naomey’s path crossed with George’s, George got her number, and the rest is history. Not long after, George surprised Naomey with a sweet family-filled proposal and they began to plan their dream wedding day. Over 800 days later, their wedding day finally arrived and they were wed in a traditional church ceremony surrounded by over 300 of their loved ones. This was my biggest wedding this year!
Naomey and George’s wedding day was filled with burgundy details, perfect for a fall wedding. Naomey’s bouquet was simply stunning, made with roses, silver dollar eucalyptus, mini roses, and dusty miller. She was the epitome of a fall bride! Naomey and George took the traditional route and didn’t see each other before their ceremony but they were able to schedule part of their portrait session on the grounds of their stunning venue, the Palace at Somerset Park. They each arrived separately with their bridal parties for photos before heading off to their ceremony.
When I asked Naomey and George why they chose the Palace at Somerset Park, they told me it was the grandeur of the property. I can completely understand that, especially with so many guests in attendance. This wedding was packed with people who love our couple dearly and there was so much for them to enjoy, including a Lebanese dance group who introduced the bride and groom and made sure to get the party started right away.
My favorite part of this wedding day was when Naomey and George arrived to the Palace in their classic car. They toasted and shared a glass of champagne before their portrait session and it was a moment filled with both joy from their wedding and I think a bit of relief that we still had plenty of daylight despite daylight savings. This time of year can be so challenging with the shorter days but these two got so lucky and we were able to get plenty of portraits from them outdoors.
Naomey and George, congratulations! I wish you all the best in your marriage and can’t wait to follow along on your journey and husband and wife. I hope you’re enjoying Aruba and that you get to relax plenty and hang out with the flamingos too!
