Sarah and Ray met their senior year at the University of Maryland and after establishing their careers, moving to NYC, and dealing with a pandemic during their original wedding year, they are finally married! Their beautiful summer Navesink Country Club wedding day was full of time with family and friends – and lots of love. Like my husband and me, they had a long engagement, which gave them plenty of time to plan their dream event together.
From the start, Sarah and Ray knew they wanted to be married at Navesink – they’ve spent lots of time there together as a couple and hope to continue as they are married and grow their family. I love that their choice of venue was so intentional! I also love that they went with a super classic summer color palette of mauve, white, and sage – it was just stunning against the muted colors at the country club!

Sarah and Ray each started out their wedding day getting ready at local hotels – The Bungalow and Oyster Point Hotel. When we were leaving the hotel to head to the country club, it started to pour, and I thought for sure their first look would have to happen indoors or under umbrellas. Thankfully, though, the rain seemed to skip right over Red Bank and we had nothing but bright sun during their first look and portraits. I will say it was super windy and Sarah’s veil may have flown off a few times! It was worth it though because the veil made her look so bridal!
When it came time for their ceremony, it was supposed to rain at the exact time of their ceremony but instead we got the glowiest light and we took advantage of it immediately following the ceremony to do some “Just Married!” photos out in a field with the pretty sunlight behind them. Then it was time for cocktail hour and the celebration started with Mission Dance at the helm, which made it a non-stop party!
Sarah and Ray, congratulations on your wedding! It was an honor to be a part of it! Have fun planning your South African Safari next!
