This past June, Jay and I celebrated our two year anniversary! Since we didn’t do anything super special for our first year anniversary we decided that this time we’d celebrate with a trip to Paris. We had both been to Paris before but never together and I have to say that going to Paris with Jay was… magical. Decadent crêpes, evening strolls along the River Seine, and time to just enjoy each other were only a few of the things that made this trip so memorable. But the highlight of the trip was our anniversary session with Brian Wright from French Grey Photography. I have been following Brian for a few years and I’ve always admired his work so when we decided to go to Paris I knew I wanted us to schedule a session with him. To make sure he’d be available while we were in my favorite city in the world we booked him before we even bought our tickets! I’m so glad we did, too, because he only had a couple of dates remaining for the entire summer. Of course, we snatched up one of the dates right away and after what seemed like an eternity of looking forward to our trip, June finally came and we got to meet Brian. To say I was excited is an understatement. We got all dressed up and met up with Brian at Café Palais Royal before heading out to a few beautiful locations during the gorgeous evening light. Our session started at 7pm, which will seem so hard to believe when you scroll through our photos because we had so much light! Paris doesn’t get dark until really late during the summer so we had to wait all day for the soft light. It was well worth the wait, though, because it turned out so perfect! Jay and I had so much fun during the session. We hadn’t been in front of a camera since our wedding day so we really enjoyed taking direction from Brian. He has such a relaxed way about him and we of course talked shop in between locations so it was the perfect way for us to spend an evening in Paris. So now, without further ado, here are our favorites from the session. If you haven’t been in front of the camera since your wedding day I suggest you try an anniversary session – it will remind you why you fell in love and bring you back to your wedding day.
