Casey and Tim were engaged at the end of the summer and were so excited that they booked their engagement session right away! They chose to have their session in Point Pleasant, where Tim popped the question and Casey said “YES!” I had a great time getting to know them and hearing about the start of their wedding planning. These two are so excited to be engaged and planning a wedding that I’m sure they’re going to enjoy every minute of the preparation. Scroll down for details on their story and to view some of my favorites from their session!
The first date
Casey: I mostly remember being nervous. I had waited months to go on a date with him. I remember not knowing what to do order because it was late at night and ordering sweet potato fries only because Tim ordered regular fries.
Tim: I remember that just that it went very smoothly. It went about as good as a first date could go. Casey seemed very cute and perky, and yet shy at the same time.
When they knew
Casey: I don’t know if there was one moment where I knew he was the one. I think it might have been after we got our kitten, Lady, and watching him in a new role as caretaker, or the time I went to the racetrack with him and we spent the whole day doing something he loved.
Tim: I always had a feeling, but I think all we went through just built towards that confirmation, between my dad getting sick, the hurricane, moving in together, just all the stuff we went through together in our first year.
The proposal
We talked about getting engaged long before we did. Tim had plans and all I knew was that it would happen at some point before October 1. On our two year anniversary Tim took me to Shrimp Box in Point Pleasant. It’s one of the few places I can get crab legs and one of the few seafood dishes I’ll actually eat! Dinner was awkward. I couldn’t help but wonder if he was going to propose – though he had assured me he wasn’t. I’m sure we looked like we were actually on a first date and not an anniversary dinner. After dinner we headed to the boardwalk for games and funnel cake. What a great tradition to start in our new home! We didn’t win a minion and the funnel cake line was forever. So instead we took a walk down the boardwalk, somewhat out of place in our jeans and t-shirts. Tim suggested we head down to the beach, so with only a small grimace, I slipped off my ballet flats and started towards the water. (I hate sand!) It was a beautiful evening and we had found a part of the beach that was nearly empty. Standing on the beach, watching the water Tim turned to me and said “So I have a little surprise for you.” (An inside joke – just ask and I’ll tell you!) He then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
What they love about each other
Casey: I love Tim’s laugh – it’s infectious. It lights up his whole face. I love that it makes me laugh.
Tim: Casey has such a good heart; she always looks for the good things in life.
What they’re looking forward to on their wedding day (besides getting married!)
Casey: Celebrating our love with all our family and friends – and finally getting to relax and stop planning!
Tim: Just getting our families together.
