We’re sitting at a lovely café right now, in the heart of Budapest, and my heart is so happy. If you’re not following along on Instagram, go give us a follow right now, because we started our working holiday in Eastern Europe yesterday and we’ll be sharing our journey over there for the next few weeks. With such a busy wedding season this year, we didn’t have time for a proper vacation, but we’ve traded in our home office for outdoor cafés and charming town squares, and it’s the best thing we could’ve done to feel refreshed and renewed while we edit all of our beautiful weddings, and while I share this beautiful summer engagement session too, which brings me to the real reason for this post!
Meet Lauren and Frank, college sweethearts, sangria aficionados, and one of our sweetest, most affectionate couples! These two found us thanks to one of Lauren’s nurse friends whom we worked with last year, and we’re so happy for that because they’re the sweetest couple! Their engagement session took place in all their favorite spots – with their doggies right in their neighborhood, at their favorite local park, and at the beach in Sea Bright. It was a hot summer day, but you’d never be able to tell because these guys look gorgeous in every image! Get excited to see more of these two because they’re getting married soon! Enjoy today’s post!
Lauren and Frank met when Frank transferred to TCNJ and landed in the dorm room just two doors down from Lauren. They liked to go into Trenton and the areas surrounding their college to discover great, new ethnic food that they would not otherwise be exposed to in the college cafeteria. Lauren and Frank came upon an authentic Spanish restaurant in the heart of Jersey’s capital. They enjoyed pitcher after pitcher of white and red sangria, delicious paella and even a little boozey coffee (and Lauren was not yet of legal age :P), and it was their own little adventure that they will remember fondly.
Lauren knew immediately when she met Frank that he was the one. She often remembers that weird feeling that you think will never actually happen, but it did for her!
The proposal:
Lauren: “We were visiting our old stomping grounds at The College of New Jersey, dorms and houses we lived in, bars we frequented and our friend shops and eateries. The tour ended where we enjoyed our first official date, at Malaga in Trenton (noted above). When we were tucked in a little corner, the waiter came over fancily pouring us sangria and putting on a little show to welcome us to the restaurant. At some point we both blacked out, but the lady in the corner must’ve been eavesdropping because she heard every minute of it. A moment later I looked up to see both of our immediately families coming through the door, smiling from ear to ear, to celebrate over dinner with us.”
