Choosing a location for your engagement session is often such a challenge for newly engaged couples but for Megan and Steve, it was a no-brainer. Their Red Bank NJ Engagement Photos have so much meaning behind them! Not only did we photograph Megan and Steven in their current hometown, but we also included the very spot of their first date and a few other local spots where they like to hang out. Red Bank was definitely the perfect location for their shoot! Jay and I always love spending time in Red Bank. Not just because it’s such a cute town, but also because it reminds us of the start of our own relationship. Like Megan and Steve, our first date was in Red Bank, too! We loved spending the afternoon with this couple and getting to know them before the big day, which is just around the corner! These two will be tying the knot this summer and we are SO excited for their wedding!. How they met:  

Megan: We connected on Match and Steve was my first and only date from there. When we first started emailing we figured out we were both flying to Denver in the coming weeks to see our favorite band and we had already booked the same flight! Steve introduced himself on the plane as I was walking down the aisle to my seat. We went out on our first date the next week.

Steve: We met on match.com after exchanging a few emails we were randomly on the same flight to see our favorite band phish in Denver, CO. We said hello to each other on the plane.

Their first date:

Megan: I was running late and Steve waited for me outside of the restaurant, which I thought was really nice. We sat at the bar and planned on having a drink, but we ended up staying a long time and getting dinner too. I was nervous at first, but we got along so well and conversation was so easy that I felt comfortable quickly.

Steve: I remember her bringing me a widespread panic cd and she was about 20 minutes late.

When they knew

Megan: I think like I always keep realizing it, and I think I had a hint on our first date, but one moment that comes to mind is when we were at a concert on New Years Eve and we kissed at midnight.

Steve: We were at  music festival at Hunter Mountain. It was pouring rain and mud everywhere. We had so much fun and I knew she was the one. :)

The proposal”

Megan: Steve proposed in our kitchen after we got home from being out with friends. He has planned on doing it the next day in the park, but I was really relieved that it was private and just the two of us. I love that it was in our kitchen, which is where we hang out the most. The next day we went to brunch at the same place we had our first date.

Steve: My original plan was to propose on a Sunday afternoon at Riverside Park in Red Bank and the go to brunch. I changed my plans after a night out with friends and proposed at home in the kitchen where we always hang out when it was just the 2 of us. Then on Sunday we went to brunch at The Downtown where we had our first date.

One thing they love about each other: 

Megan: I love that Steve is so funny and kind and really cares about the people in his life. I love that he listens and encourages me and wants me to be happy. Steve is also my favorite person to hang out with and we always have a good time, even if it’s just the two of us hanging out at the house.

Steve: I love how we always have a great time together whether its at home watching shows or going out. We are Stegan!

Besides getting married, the one thing they are looking forward to on their wedding day:

Megan: I am really excited to have all our friends and family and people we love in the same place at the same time and celebrating with them.

Steve: I am looking forward to us being all dressed up and having a great time celebrating with family and friends. Of course the Dessert table !!!!
