The Couple
Grace and Anthony met when they were both students at Manhattan College. Their relationship eventually evolved and Anthony asked Grace to be his girlfriend while sitting on a bench in Bryant Park. Six years later, they returned to that very bench and he asked her to marry him. How sweet!! I love proposal stories like this one that allow us to see the softer side of our groom when it comes to his bride.
The Wedding Day
We knew Grace and Anthony would have an incredible wedding day from the moment we met them over Skype last fall. They planned a classic wedding day with a church ceremony and left plenty of time for photos before heading to their reception. We were so thankful for this because we had lots of time to create images for them in so many locations! We started out at nearby Monmouth University’s Wilson Hall where we used both the elegant gardens and sunroom as a backdrop, then headed to Asbury Park for its Convention Hall and nearby murals, and finally we arrived at Shadowbrook for final portraits in front of the estate. We loved being back at this beautiful venue since it’s one of our favorites and it reminded us of Jay’s sister’s wedding last year. Plus we knew we would enjoy the evening just as much as Grace and Anthony’s guests because they really know how to take care of everyone there. You can tell a lot about a venue when they even treat the vendors well =)
One of my favorite parts of the day was discovering all of Grace’s gorgeous wedding day details that she had carefully picked out. She had the prettiest color palette of blush and burgundy including a lovely jewelry dish that I loved incorporating into her detail photos. Her bouquet was made up of wonderful ranunculus, astilbe, and garden roses, and it complemented her groom’s navy tuxedo perfectly. I just loved the navy and blush color combination – it’s the perfect color palette for a classic and timeless wedding. But my absolute favorite part of the day was seeing how relaxed these two were. At one point Grace even said that she had planned so much leading up to the day, she had decided that whatever happened, happened, and that she would just enjoy the day. I just loved this approach and it paid off because Grace and Anthony enjoyed every minute of their special day.
Anthony and Grace, congratulations!! Your wedding day was beyond perfect and we are so excited that you can now call each other husband and wife! Enjoy these highlights of your day as you relax on the beaches of Cabo and plan your upcoming European adventure! Thank you for allowing us to capture your love story.
