The Couple

It’s hard to believe that we first met Lisa and Michael a year and a half ago. They found us through one of our 2014 couples and we couldn’t be more thankful that they did because we have loved working with them and getting to know their story. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that Mike proposed to Lisa in front of a field of sunflowers, Lisa’s favorite. There’s nothing sweeter than a man planning a proposal, but when he finds a perfect spot like Mike did, he gets extra points! Since that day, these two have been planning their wedding day and we loved how it came together just five short days ago.

The Wedding Day

For their wedding, Lisa wanted them to stay close to their personal style as much as possible. They chose gray and navy as their main colors and added pops of coral and pink. I just loved this color palette! Their gorgeous invitation suite by Art Paper Scissors Design brought it all together and made for beautiful detail shots in the morning. It was so fun having Lisa’s bridesmaids be just as excited as I was about all the pretty things Lisa had gathered for us to document. There has been a wave of weddings among Lisa and Mike’s friends these past couple of years so everyone was incredibly excited that it was their turn! I just love mornings like that when the excitement is palpable! When it came time for the first look, a trolley took the bridal party and their parents to Monmouth University and between the singing, laughing, and dancing, I knew we were going to have a great time with this group. At Monmouth, Lisa and Michael were able to share a moment together as their family and friends looked on from afar. They had such a sweet first look – I don’t think I’ll ever forget it! Mike couldn’t contain his tears as he turned to see his beautiful bride and when I turned around to see their friends and family, there were even more tears being shed. The rest of the day was just as perfect – portraits at sunny Monmouth, a lovely outdoor ceremony at South Gate Manor, and countless fun moments at their reception. Lisa and Michael, thank you for giving us the honor of documenting this special day! We are so excited for you two to begin your lives as husband and wife!! Enjoy your honeymoon in Antigua!!
