Happy Friday, friends! I hope you’re staying cool on this oh so hot day! I’m taking a little break from editing to share Keri and Garret’s engagement photos with you! I took these in Spring Lake where they spend their summers and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day. It was my first time meeting Keri and Garret in person but it felt like we already knew each other. They warmed up to the camera right away and we had a wonderful mix of park, picnic, and beach photos. Keri and Garret’s relationship goes way back! They met in high school and had multiple classes together and started hanging out after they saw each other at a concert one day. Lately we’ve been meeting a lot of couples who have known each other since their school days and I love hearing that! Keri and Garret are a perfect match, and these photos are proof – they are just so happy together! My favorite part of the session was their champagne toast – it was full of both laughter and romance! It was perfect for our time at the park before we headed off to the beach for the last bit of light that remained in the day. Enjoy this peek into my favorites from the session and get excited for their June Windows on the Water at Frogbridge wedding!

Their first date:
“Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant but Keri was too nervous to tell Garret that she didn’t know/like Mexican food so she ordered a Caesar salad.”
When they knew:
Garret says he knew Keri was the one when she wouldn’t let him break up with her in college :). Keri knew once they did long distance for a year and a half and they still wanted to be together.
The proposal:
“The proposal was at a spot called dolphin head park on Hilton Head island, South Carolina. They were on vacation with 25 members of Keri’s family. Garret told Keri to get ready early before dinner because there was a nice spot he found nearby earlier in the day. It poured as they drove there but the sun came out as soon as they arrived there. Garret proposed while Keri’s sister and cousin hid in the trees taking pictures. Afterwards they got to surprise the whole family at dinner with the engagement and celebrate for the rest of the vacation. Hilton Head is where Keri’s parents got engaged too, but Garret didn’t know that until a few days before vacation when he asked Keri’s dad for his permission.”
What they love about each other:
Keri loves Garret’s humor because he can always lighten the mood during stressful times.
Garret loves that Keri is easy going and understanding of his many hobbies, even fishing.
Besides being married, what they’re looking forward to the most on their wedding day:
“On our wedding day Garret is looking forward to getting married at Rutgers with all of our Rutgers friends watching. Keri is looking forward to having all of their family and friends together in one place and dancing!”
