Alexandra and Andrew met through a mutual friend, now one of Alex’s bridesmaids! Alex was visiting her in Philadelphia over the summer and they had stopped by Andrew’s apartment for dinner before going out that night. They hit it off and soon ended up on a first date at the aquarium. They have the most amazing proposal story (it includes a trip to New Zealand!) but I’ll let you read it in their own words below.
For their engagement session, we met up in Spring Lake, one of my favorite places to shoot! They had a beautiful summer day and we created a combination of classic and fun images at both Divine Park and Spring Lake Beach. The light was so pretty that day and we had a mix of glowy light at the park and soft evening light at the beach – it was perfect!
Alex and Andrew are getting married next month so you’ll be seeing them on the blog again soon but, for now, enjoy looking through just some of my favorite images from their Spring Lake NJ engagement session and reading their love story below.
Spring Lake NJ Engagement Session
When they knew they had found the one
“I think I knew pretty early on. I felt so comfortable around him as if we had known each other for years right at the very beginning.”
“I knew there was something special early in our relationship. She was easy to talk to and got along well with my friends. It was after spending several weekend trips getting to know each other’s families that I truly knew she was the one.”
The proposal
“He asked when we were traveling in New Zealand. We took a day trip out of Auckland to the west coast of New Zealand. He proposed on a secluded beach. It was definitely a surprise.”
One thing they love about each other
“I love that he can always make me smile.”
“I love that she will watch football, although she has a very poor taste in teams.”
All about the ring
“It is exactly what I wanted. It is simple and delicate. I love how shiny it is.”
