Story time! Then, we’ll dive into this gorgeous summer engagement session at Skylands Manor! Back in February 2020, Lisa came across one of my Park Chateau weddings online and reached out about capturing her wedding day there the following year. I scheduled a phone consult with both her and her fiancé, John. On the call, they started telling me about their wedding plans and then somehow it came up that John had graduated from Freehold High School, which is where I taught for many years before I made the leap to full-time photographer. I asked him his last name and immediately realized that John had been my student! We definitely got a kick out of realizing this. So, our consult ended up being a time to catch up on what he had been doing since he graduated. I loved hearing about his life’s journey and meeting Lisa during Law School at Syracuse University!
Of course I was ecstatic when my two worlds collided and Lisa and John booked me to capture their wedding day! It’s always an honor to get to capture the wedding day of all my couples but, when it’s one of my past students it definitely gives me all the feels. I couldn’t wait for their March 2021 wedding… but then COVID hit and their March 2021 wedding was postponed to March 2022. Now we are just about seven weeks away from their big day and I couldn’t be more excited!
Summer Engagement Session at Skylands Manor
Back in summer 2020, we met up for their engagement session at Skylands Manor and I had the best time working with these two. I loved seeing how John’s joyful personality hasn’t changed one bit and how he makes Lisa laugh so easily. Needless to say, it has been a long wait for these two, but their day is finally approaching. I’m looking forward to kicking off my 2022 wedding season with Lisa and John’s wedding at Park Chateau Estate, one of my very favorite venues. In honor of their upcoming wedding, here is a recap of their engagement session.
Lisa and John, I cannot wait to see you soon in March! You’ve waited too long for your big day but I know it will be well worth the wait! Can’t wait to get you both in front of my camera again =)
