Lucia – isn’t that a gorgeous name?! Growing up, my mother had a friend whose daughter was named Lucia and I always thought that name was so beautiful! It’s not very common, though, so I hadn’t heard it for a long time. It’s such a pretty name for this gorgeous girl with a head full of hair! And her locks are such a lovely contrast with the yellow and pink that we used during her session, aren’t they? I have to say, I’ve been hoping a parent would ask for a color palette that included yellow for a while now. I had this gorgeous yellow blanket that I had been dying to use for a while now and was so excited to finally get to include it in a session! Lucia didn’t want to sleep much during her session so but when she finally did, she was so good to me. She let me put her into all of my very favorite poses and he was so calm and peaceful. I loved working with her, and also loved talking shop and connecting with her mama who is also a photographer! Through our conversation, I learned that Lucia’s grandmother had made her a special quilt for her so we incorporated it in Lucia’s session and I know that image is going to be one of her most treasured ones when she grows up. Getting to know and connecting with our clients is seriously my favorite part of being a photographer and I love discovering little stories like this one that are represented in my images. With no further ado, here are some of my favorite images from Lucia’s newborn session. Enjoy meeting this adorable little lady!
