Today I’m focusing on the wedding day details that we like to photograph for you during bride and groom prep. It’s a good idea to have a checklist of these items so that you can have them all in one spot when we arrive. This will ensure that we get photos of everything and nothing will be left out!
1. Gather all bridal items in one spot.
I love when my brides have everything waiting for me in one place. It saves me so much time when I don’t have to go looking for everything and I can start photographing all your special items right away!
2. Wedding Invitation
You put a lot of time and effort into finding the perfect invitation so be sure to have it ready for me. If you have other items available for me I’ll be sure to use them! Each invitation pictured below has additional items that I incorporated. Whether it is the belt from your wedding dress, your wedding bands, your veil, your soon-to-be husband’s boutonniere, your hair piece, or extra flowers from your centerpieces, all these personal touches will help make your photos unique. If possible, ask your florist for an extra flower or two to use in your photos.
3. Wedding Bands
It’s really important that you have your rings available when I photograph all your wedding day details. Don’t worry about getting them to the best man – we’ll find a way, I promise!
4. Dress and dress hanger
I will bring a wooden hanger to hang your dress on but you can always get a more unique one with your last name on it if you’d like! Click here to purchase one from Handmade Affair.
5. Bouquets
It’s a great idea to have your flowers delivered nice and early so that I can photograph your bouquet in the same setting as the rest of your wedding day details.
6. Shoes
Shoes are one of my favorite things to photograph! And if you have more than one pair make sure you let me know!
7. Jewelry
Have your earrings, necklace, and bracelet available, too!
8. Gather your groom’s details
We love photos of the groom’s details, too! Be sure to gather your fiancé’s items and Jay will photograph them during groom prep. This can include shoes, belt, tie, watch, cuff links, and tie clip.
9. Nice Cuff Links
There’s nothing like a nice set of cuff links for a great groom details shot! And they make a fabulous wedding day gift… just sayin’… :-)
10. LIGHT
Please be sure to get ready in a location with lots and lots of natural light! It will make such a big difference in your photos.
